Snakes and Ladders
Today we learned about a popular game called “Snakes and Ladders.” It originated in ancient India and is still played today. You have a game board that starts at 1 and goes all the way to 100. You roll the dice and try to make your way to 100. Along the way, you may run into a “ladder.”The ladder means you can go all the way to the number at the top of the ladder. But if you run into a “snake”, you have to go all the way down to the number at the bottom of the snake’s tail.
We played a giant version with 13 players today.
“Five plus two is…7!”
”Four plus one is five!”
”… where’s my drink bottle…”
It was very exciting, but there could only be one winner. She was lucky enough to get all the good ladders!
”Finished already?”
2nd and 3rd weren’t far behind!
Let’s play again!
